The Disciple.Tools AI plugin is designed to bring advanced artificial intelligence capabilities to the Disciple.Tools platform, enhancing the way disciple makers manage contacts, track progress, and facilitate movement-building. By integrating AI, the plugin helps users leverage natural language skills, automate workflows, and visualize ministry data in new ways.​

Core Purposes:

  • Enhance Workflow with AI-Powered Search: Users can filter contacts, groups, and other records using natural language queries. For example, you can enter, “Show me all contacts in Kenya who are baptized” and instantly filter results.
  • Automate Summarization & Recommendations (Planned): The plugin is developing features for auto-summarizing contact records, activities, and timeline updates—helping users get instant overviews and intelligent recommendations.
  • Streamline Field Updates: Through integrations like magic link applications and (future) voice-to-text AI tools, field workers can update records and log activities hands-free, improving usability while on the go.
  • Data Visualization & Mapping: The plugin creates AI-generated maps and dynamic charts to visualize filtered data, supporting better decision-making and movement analysis.
  • Privacy and Safety: The plugin includes features (in-progress) for obfuscating personally identifiable information (PII) when sending data to AI, and enforces permission-based access for sensitive operations.

  • Natural Language Filtering: AI understands commands in plain English for filtering lists, selecting fields, or resolving ambiguous queries by prompting for clarification.

  • Dynamic Maps & Custom Charts: AI-powered geographic and metrics-based data visualizations embedded in the Disciple.Tools platform.
  • Voice-to-Text Updates (Planned): Field users can dictate updates that are transcribed by AI, mapped to the right contacts, and logged automatically.
  • Security/Privacy Controls: In-progress features detect and mask sensitive information, ensuring responsible AI usage.

  • Instantly get a list of “contacts assigned to John with recent activity.”
  • Map “groups meeting in urban areas” for targeted follow-up.
  • Analyze “new contacts from last month” for growth tracking.

Requirements & Setup:

  • Requires Disciple.Tools theme on WordPress, an OpenAI-compatible AI endpoint, and valid API credentials.
  • Configurable modules and AI provider settings are available in the platform admin area; setup includes selecting your AI model and permissions.
